West Cork Rally 2011

Motorsport Photographer Sligo In the closest of close finishes Robert Barrable and his co driver Damien Connelly have scored a great victory here in West Cork. Their Skoda S2000 finished just over a second in front of Daragh O’Riordan/Tony McDaid in their Subaru WRC. The HQ for the Rally was the Quality Hotel in Clonakilty.  Barrable seemed to be slow through the penultimate stage when he caught up with Colm Murphy. This allowed O’Riordan to close to within 0.9 of a second that meant that it was all down to the spectator stage which was run through the streets of Clonakilty. Barrable gave it one last push to set the fastest time and win the rally. His actual stage time was just over a second up on O’Riordan. It was a very tight finish and after 2 days of high speed action through the roads of West Cork only 1.3 seconds separated the top 2. Colm Murphy and his co driver Don Montgomery who led for most of the rally had to be content with 3rd place. Just a few Images below from the event starting with Barrable and Connelly.

Mayo Stages Rally 2011 - 13th March 2011

Motorsport Photographer Sligo has Images from the Mayo Motor Club Rally. HQ for the event was the McWillam Park Hotel in Claremorris. The Stages were the same as last year with one small change.
Kevin Barrett won the event, with Niall Maguire second and Seamus Leonard in third place.

Galway Motor Club - Club Awards Night 5th March 2011

Birr Stages Rally - 27 Feb 2011

Motorsport Photographer Sligo has Images from the first round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship 2011. The event organised by the Birr Motor Club was based in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel. Tim McNuntly and Paul Kiely won the event with a minute to spare over last years winners Melvin Evans and Patrick Walsh.

Fivemiletown Spring Rally - 26th Feb 2011

Motorsport Photographer Sligo has all the Images from the Spring Rally. The HQ for the event was the Chestnut Bar, Fivemiletown and the rally was held in the Forest near the town.

Galway International Rally 2011 4th-6th Feb

Motorsport Photographer Sligo has Images from the Safety Direct Galway International Rally 2011. Based in the Clayton Hotel the First major rally of the 2011 season had a very low entry, however with great stages and a lot of rain it made the stages very interesting for the competitors. Tim McNulty and Paul Kiely took the honours.
